5 Days hiking tour in The Usambaras

Day One (4-6 Hrs)
 

Drive from Lushoto to the village of Magamba and trek from Magamba through the rain forest, farm land and traditional villages ending up at Lukozi for overnight at the campsite. You have the chance to see local wildlife such as monkeys and chameleons. 

Day two: (4-6 hrs) 

Start walking from the campsite after breakfast and walk through traditional villages and farming land to  Rangwi convent for overnight at Rangwi campsite. 

Food can be arranged by the nuns on request of the group. 

Day three (4-6 hrs) 

Optional. Either to climb Mzoghoti peak early in the morning around five or helping the nuns with some activities at the convent such as harvesting, cooking, washing dishes, watering the garden or take a short walk around the village. 

Day four: (4-6 hrs) 

After breakfast you walk from the convent through different villages and visit pottery making women before arriving in Mtae in the late afternoon. Overnight at the Lutheran church camp site. Later walk around the village of Mtae and end the day watching the sunset. 

Day five: (4-5 hrs) 

Catch the transport early in the morning around 4:00 or 4:30 back to the campsite in Lushoto and leave your bags at the campsite. After breakfast at the campsite, at about 10:00 AM, walk to Irente view point (about 4 hour walk) and experience the beautiful view over Lushoto.
